People often ask me, “Jaime, what are YOU going to focus on next year. And what should I do to increase my chances of succeeding online?”
Personally, I’m going to have a simple game plan. I’m going back to basics and I’m going to implement the same plan I had when I first started online two years ago…
Traffic + Conversions = Sales, Sign-Ups and a Growing, Profitable List
It’s really not complicated at all. I don’t like “complicated”. I like to keep things nice and simple.
With that said, that doesn’t mean it’s going to be “easy”. Nothing worth doing is “easy”, so if you decide to implement some of the things I recommend below, expect a small learning curve and decide that you’re going to put in the time to actually learn and get good at it.
Let’s talk about “Traffic” first. Without good and sufficient traffic, nothing else will work for you. You can forget about getting sales and building a list. What you will be driving traffic to is up to you. You can drive traffic to your website or blog. You can drive traffic to your lead capture page. You can drive traffic to your Facebook fanpage. It doesn’t matter… AS LONG as you have a way to convert that traffic to leads using some type of email capturing method. For example, when I drive traffic it’s usually to my lead capture page, but if I do drive traffic to my Facebook fanpage there is still a way for me to capture emails. Notice, that in both strategies, I am capturing emails and building my list.
“OK Jaime, that makes sense.. but HOW do I drive traffic?”
That comes down to MARKETING.
Basically there are two types of marketing. There’s PAID marketing and FREE marketing. Personally, I’m going to do BOTH in 2013. Why? Because I’m now in a position to throw money at Solo Ads, and other forms of advertising, which frees up a lot of my time so I can do the things I enjoy like hanging out with my family, and going to the gym.
But I will still do some FREE marketing, and if you don’t have a budget yet to do PAID marketing, you can get a ton of good results still from doing FREE marketing strategies like video marketing and blogging. In fact, those very two strategies are the two FREE marketing strategies that I’ll be focusing on.
Video Marketing is an awesome form of marketing and it converts extremely well. It’s not a coincidence that online Guru’s like Mike Dillard, Jonathan Budd and systems like My Lead System Pro all use video sales pages, and leverage video as much as they can. I’ve used video a ton in my marketing (I have over 560+ videos on my personal Youtube Channel) so I know it works. But as all things on the Internet, things change and evolve. I’m not saying videos don’t work anymore, I’m just saying that certain strategies to get your videos ranked on Google change. That’s why I’m learning how to get my video ranked by using this Video Marketing Guide. The guys who put it together got so good at Video Marketing that they generated more than 14,000 free and targeted leads using Youtube alone.
I’m also going to dive back into blogging several times a week. Creating good quality content and posting it on your blog is one of the best ways to get good traffic, not to mention that you’ll be able to brand yourself and create a presence online that will attract people to you. If you’re a computer geek and you like sitting in front of your computer setting up websites, then you can go ahead and set your own blog up yourself. Now, having a blog is one thing. But you have to know HOW to blog to get ranked on the search engines so people can actually find you. I highly recommend that you pick up this blogging product from one of the best SEO guys on the planet. Implementing the strategies he teaches will get you results.
With whatever marketing you do, you MUST give it time to give you results. Don’t try to do 1 or 2 videos, or create 1 or 2 blog posts, and expect 100 leads a day to pour in. You have to market often and consistently for a period of 3 to 6 months to start to see 30-50 leads a day. The cool thing is once you get there, the traffic (and leads) keep coming in even if you take your foot off the pedal. Also, if you don’t have a lead capture page, you can create and customize one using the tools inside of My Lead System Pro. You can take the trial for a measly $2, and you’ll have access to all the tools and training you can dream of.
Now, let’s touch on “Conversions”. It’s critical that you use lead capture pages that convert so you can maximize your efforts. For example, if you have a capture page that converts 10% of your traffic to leads, and a capture page that converts 1% of your traffic to leads, you’ll have to get 10 TIMES more traffic to the “1% capture page” for the same amount of leads. That’s HUGE. If you were using PAID traffic you would have to buy 10 TIMES more Solo Ads, and if you were using FREE traffic you would have to create 10 TIMES more videos and blog post… all for the same amount of leads.
If you’re new to online marketing, I suggest that you leverage capture pages that are already built and proven to convert. Don’t try to do it yourself. Even if you’re a computer geek and you know how to build pages, you probably don’t know how to write good ad copy yet. In my opinion, the very best converting capture pages that are proven come from My Lead System Pro and Empower Network. This one I use from My Lead System Pro has generated me over 20,000 leads, and this one from Empower Network made me more than $20,000 in 30 days.
One MAJOR tip for conversions is to offer things that your target audience will want, which more than likely will be MORE LEADS and MORE CASH. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that MLSP and Empower Network convert so high. They both offer ways for people to get MORE LEADS and MORE CASH. Magnetic Sponsoring is another example of this. (if you haven’t picked up Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring yet, do yourself a favor and pick it up right here) Offering your primary MLM business upfront will give you minimal results. Why? Because most people ALREADY have a primary business. They’re not looking for another one. What they ARE looking for is MORE LEADS and MORE CASH to fund their business because more than likely they are going broke because of all the expenses they have to pay to build their business. The proven strategy is to offer funded proposals on the front end, and then back people into your primary business AFTER building a relationship with them and giving them VALUE.
Also, you can dramatically and significantly INCREASE conversions through email marketing. The reality is most people won’t buy or join on the first exposure. However, after getting 7 or 8 follow-up emails where you give them value, the likelihood of them buying or joining goes up by 80%. OK, I’m not really sure about the “80%” because I made it up, but the chances that people will buy or join goes up A LOT. That’s why every online Guru says “the money is in the list”. They know that the more people you can get on your list, the more money you’ll make. Of course, there’s a little more to it than that… but that’s the general concept. Personally, email marketing and list building are things that I focus on, and you should to. (NOTE: this will help you build ad copy skills so that you’ll be able to sell and sponsor reps online WITHOUT picking up the phone)
As you can see, there is a FORMULA to making money online and it doesn’t have to be complicated. Yes, there’s work involved (especially if you’re going to dive into FREE marketing), but you can do it if you put in the time and put forth the effort to learn the necessary skills to succeed.
