So you’re excited and marketing your network marketing home business, and for the most part, you’re successfully generating a couple of leads on the Internet. But at the same time, you’re scratching your head and beating your head against the wall because you’re not getting all results you want.
Before you start throwing yourself a pity party, or worse yet you throw in the towel, I want to congratulate you.
Let me repeat that: I want to congratulate you.
Yes, you read that right. I want to congratulate you because you’ve done something that over 95% of network marketers don’t know how to do: You’ve generated leads online.
Keep in mind, that if you’ve generated a few leads, you have what it takes to generate a lot of leads online. Once you realize that for most network marketers they’re only method of generating leads is going out and talking to strangers, you should get excited.
Now this post isn’t about how to generate more leads (I’ll cover that in another post). The purpose of this post is to help you close the leads you do get now.
Here are 5 tips to help you increase your success ratio after you get a lead. By the way, if you tweak these tips, they also work offline:
1. Get more traffic – If you are getting 3 leads a day, and you’re wondering why no one has signed up into your home business… Don’t worry, there is nothing wrong with you, your company, or your system. You simply have to go back to “Phase 1”, and simply get more traffic.
It’s simple. More traffic equals more leads… And when you have more leads, assuming you apply some of the tips below, you will increase your conversion ratios. On the other hand, if you apply the tips below to your 3 lonely leads, chances are you still won’t get results.
2. Get on the phone with your leads – This tip alone will significantly increase your conversions. If you can call your leads within the same day that they have visited your website, that’s even better. Keep in mind, that people buy and join people that they like and trust. So by personally contacting and reaching out to them, you can start the process of building a relationship with them.
Of course, there may be a time when contacting every lead will not be possible since you’re getting too many leads… But, that’s a good challenge to have and you can cross that bridge when you get there.
3. Ask questions – When you talk to your leads, get in the habit of asking them questions, instead of just talking to them. So many people want to talk about why they love their program, why they joined their business and what their business has done for them.
Guess what… Your prospects don’t care!
They care about what it could do for them, their family, and their finances. So ask them questions like:
What do you see for yourself as far as the Opportunity is concerned?
How do you see yourself building the business?
How much money would it take for you to consider yourself “Financially Independent”?
Do you see yourself making that amount of money at your current job?
If you could make that kind of money with my help, how soon would you be able to get started?
You can ask them other questions… but basically you want to identify a problem they have (like having no money), and how you can give them a solution to that problem (like getting involved in your team). If you can give people solutions to their problems, you’ll increase your closing ratio at least 10-fold.
4. Shut up and listen! – After you ask them some questions, shut up and listen. If you can keep from interrupting them and just focus on what they are saying, they will tell you exactly what you need to know or say to help them get started. So many new marketers simply don’t ask any questions, but if they do, they don’t let the prospect answer them.
5. Find a solution to their problems – I already mentioned this earlier but I’ll repeat it again because it’s that important. If you can offer people a real solution to their problems, you’ll never have a problem closing business. Remember, people will happily buy or join you if you can show them a way to fix their challenges.
